The Power the Darkness Knows Not: 1 John 2:3-11

Christian, love your brothers and sisters --> because you love Jesus --> because he first loved us.

Jesus atones effectively, so trust him and confess your sin.

Seek satisfaction in Christ through partnership in the gospel.

To stand firm as Citizens of heaven in the face of opposition, in
faith we must use the tools the Lord has provided us.

While we wait for Christ, we must keep pursuing conformity to Christ.

First John, written ca. AD 86–95 in Ephesus, features three tests of genuine faith for discerning false teachers and assuring true saints:
1. Affectional (love)
2. Doctrinal (belief)
3. Ethical (obedience)
