Year-End Offering

November 17, 2023

Dear Kossuth Friends and Family,

Each year, our church family comes together to take a special offering in addition to what we regularly give to make a special impact for the advance of the gospel. God has provided. God wants the gospel to advance. He will see that it will happen. When we put together the individual treasures he has given each of us to steward, we put our hearts together in that place with God.

“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭19‬-‭21‬ ‭ESV‬‬)

The Gospel Goes and The Gospel Stays

Your missions team has been studying the lives of Paul and Barnabas during this past year. Reading throughout the book of Acts, we see that these guys were on the move. The gospel goes.

Paul and Barnabas were identified and sent by their church. Their church was in Antioch. They returned back home to report in before heading back out. The gospel was lived out in a time and a place through a local church. The gospel stays.

The gospel goes and the gospel stays.

Your church has identified a number of partners around the globe who give others access to the same gospel we’ve been so graciously granted. We want to support four of those partners with our year end offering.

Two of those partners are in locations with statistically insignificant amounts of Christians. For the safety and effectiveness of their work, I won’t publish in this letter their names or locations. But if you’ve been around Kossuth for even a few years, you’ve likely met them. They are from here. We’ve put them on the move for the gospel. In the last several months they’ve had some challenges to staying on the move. For different reasons, each needed to purchase new vehicles for their families. The missions team has had multiple conversations with them and determined that $2,500 each would be a significant encouragement to aid their acquisition of a vehicle.

The other two partners are in locations that have a small but growing number of Christians. Each has been sharing the gospel for decades and has been blessed to see people come to Christ to form a church in their city. But they need a place for the church to meet. They need a consistent home for ministry. Each has a church building project.

Randy Richner visited Kossuth this past year. We learned more about his family’s multigenerational ministry in Brazil.

Three ladies from our church family recently returned from visiting the church pastored by Andrea Artioli in Italy. They have reported the exciting things God is doing to see the true gospel be proclaimed amongst the Italians.

All money given above the initial $5,000 for the vehicles mentioned previously will be split evenly between the church building projects in Brazil and Italy.

The gospel goes. The gospel stays. Then the gospel goes again.

Will you move your treasure towards this common goal so we will unite our hearts?
