Family Ministry
Our mission is to lead families in a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. We seek to do this in three ways:
We seek to equip parents for gospel influence in the home through their parenting, example, and intentional discipleship of their children. We believe pointing our children to Jesus is the greatest and possibly the hardest work we will ever do. We want to help.
We seek to encourage the church in gospel partnership with parents through serving in children’s ministry, mentoring youth, and praying for our young people and their families. We want to come alongside parents as the primary disciple-makers of their children and to partner with them
in that work.
We seek to engage children in the gospel story. Our goal is not “good behavior” kids but “gospel kids” who understand, embrace, and rely on God’s grace. We want to invite our children into the story of Jesus so they come to know, love, and follow him.
CONNECTION HOUR
Kids Connection Hour (Sundays 9:15 am) seeks to engage children in the gospel story through Bible story lessons, activities, Scripture memory, and prayer. Preschool and elementary classes use The Gospel Project curriculum. The weekly "Connecting Church & Home" email provides resources to help parents read and discuss the Connection Hour Bible passage together as a family.
WORSHIP
During the corporate worship gathering, nursery, toddler, and preschool classes are available for children age four and under. Older children (kindergarten and up) are invited to participate in the worship gathering with their families using Sermon Notes for Kids. Parents who prefer to have their younger children join them in the worship gathering are welcome to do so.
MIDWEEK
The goal of Kossuth's midweek ministry (Wednesdays 6:30-8 pm) is to equip and encourage parents in family discipleship while engaging children and students with the gospel. Our midweek ministry meets three times a month from October-March. If you have questions, please contact the church office.
CONNECTION HOUR
The youth Connection Hour classes (Sundays 9:15-10:15 am) provide interactive Bible teaching and discussion to engage middle school and high school students in the story of Jesus.
MIDWEEK
On Wednesday nights during Midweek (6:30-8 PM), students 6th–12th grade gather to share in relationships with one another, engage with Scripture, and be encouraged by adult volunteers.
Our typical format on Wednesday nights is to play a game, hear from God’s word, discuss what we’ve heard, and pray together in small groups.
