Some of you might have seen this on Facebook, but I wanted to urge all of you to participate in this. If you're confused, this is simply a request to urgently pray for the Sabens over the course of today and tomorrow.
This is an urgent last-minute virtual prayer meeting.
Please pray for Greg and Cheryl Sabens who are in the Ukraine to adopt a seven year old girl, Olya. Their four other children are here in the States staying with relatives.
1. Because the Adoption Laws are often changing it is difficult to keep up with what needs to be done and when.
2. Greg & Cheryl left the States on Dec. 10th with the plan of returning on Jan. 20th. Today, Jan. 25th, the end is still nowhere in sight and they have no idea when they will be able to the States.
3. Tomorrow at 5:00 AM (EST) they plan to stand (literally as there are no seats) and wait to see someone in the State Dept. of Adoptions who will sign a needed paper to keep things moving. Last week with an appointment they waited four hours. Pray for God's intervention in this meeting.
4. Greg noted on FB this morning that they now need to have a background check done through Interpol. This could take up to 40 days!
Greg and Cheryl need the prayers of God's people. Their heart's desire is to adopt Olya. God has commanded us to care for orphans and the way that Olya was brought into their lives it looks like it is God's plan for her to be in their family. Please pray that throughout this time of waiting that Greg and Cheryl will be growing closer to the the Lord and that God will be glorified in all that is said and done.
