Welcome / Ministries / Children / AWANA
Scripture Memory, Games, Bible Learning and More

On Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8:00 during the school year, we have an AWANA Club meeting for children ages 3 through grade 5. There are three different clubs for the children:
- Cubbies is for pre-school children for their two years prior to entering Kindergarten (ages 3-4). They will be meeting in the basement of the church where the pre-school classes meet on Sundays.
- Sparks is the club for children kindergarten – grade 2. They will be meeting upstairs.
- Truth & Training, for boys and girls in grades 3-5, will also meet upstairs.
The goal of AWANA is that children will come to know, love and serve the Lord Jesus Christ. In fact, the name AWANA comes from the theme verse II Timothy 2:15 – Approved Workman Are Not Ashamed.
Every night will include several segments designed especially each age group:
- Game Time will involve all the children regardless of their athletic ability. The games are designed to build cooperation and good sportsmanship as they compete as teams.
- Handbook Time is for the children to work one on one with their leaders as they finish assignments in their books. There is an emphasis on Scripture memory with an understanding of what each verse means. As they finish each section of their book, they will receive awards and trophies at each level.
- Large Group Time is the time when the children and leaders gather for announcements, awards and practical lessons from the Bible.
Get involved by inviting your neighborhood kids and your children’s friends, becoming a leader in AWANA, or even just by coming to help listen to the children as they recite their verses.
